ALL THE YEARS AT BROOKLANDS GESCHREVEN DOOR / WRITTEN BY GERRY BELTON The sequel to "The Vintage years at Brooklands" that Joseph Bayley planned.
Published in 1968, Dr Joseph Bayley's classic book "The Vintage Years at Brooklands", a photographic record of motorcycle racing there in the 1920's, reflected his years of observing and photographing the men and the machines of the period and led to him becoming the acknowledged authority on motorcycle racing and record breaking at the famous track. Some years before he died in 2000, aged 93, the had outlined a second book, this time covering the entire history of motorcycle racing at Brooklands from the earliest days of 1908 until 1939, when the track finally closed. But his advancing years were to frustrate his plans. With the approval of Joseph's son Anthony, the task of producing the book was taken on by a family friend, Gerry Belton, a member of the Brooklands Society since 1971. The new book follows exactly the format of the original, containing over 130 superb, whole page black and white photographs, many not seen before, mostly from Joseph Bayley's unique archives. Nieuw boek, harde kaft, 271 pagina's, Engelse tekst. New book, hard cover, 271 pages, English language.
