Whatever happened to all the fabulous motorbikes of the thirties, fourties and fifties - the big Harley cruisers, Brough Superiors, Vincent Black Shadows and Manx Nortons ? Most of them were considered too recent to restore and ended up on the scrapheap. Others, however, found their way to Australia, where just a few fell into the hands of dedicated enthusiasts.
Alan Puckett and Warren Penney sought out surviving machines from this motorcycle age that is past, yet is freshy in the minds of many enthusiasts, selected 30 painstakingly restored machines for this book.
Alan Puckett's superb artwork captures the mystique of each machine, as well as the detail of its form. To complement these fullpage illustrations, Warren Penney contributes more than 220 stunning colour photographs, while the text recalls the background to the models and the stories of individual machines.
