DE FIETS – MUSEUM BOYMANS-VAN BEUNINGEN

The book was published by the Museum Boymans-van Beuningen following their exhibition “De Fiets” in 1977.
Because the exhibition took place in a museum of visual arts, and because many artists gave attention to the bicycle, obviously, a greater emphasis was placed on the aesthetic aspect and an important place was given to the works of art. For the first time, it was a combined exhibition in which the historical and sociological departments worked together.
