FIFTY YEARS OF MOTORCLES – NO. 2
WRITTEN BY CYRIL POSTHUMUS
ILLUSTRATED BY J.W. WOOD AND TEAM

THE ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF THE MOTORCYCLE

This second part of the series tells of Britain’s introduction of the overhead valve vertical twin, of stormy days before and after the Second World War and of how the urgent need to export and worldwide demand combined to bring boom manufacturing and sales conditions for over a decade.
With the 1960s, however, intensive production by over a half dozen motorcycle manufacturing companies brought near-satisfaction, making buyers more and more discerning, and markets ever tougher to penetrate. The choice lay between tradition-bound British machines, soundly built but mostly conservative in design, advanced European models, and sleek, sophisticated computerdesigned motorcycles from the dynamic new Japanese industry.

The book is used, soft cover, 63 pages, English text.
