Wolfgang Stropek, Austrian National Champion 500cc and two-time Austrian Mountain Champion, is one of three drivers worldwide to score points in both the solo and sidecar world championships. In 1969 he won points in Imatra in the 500ccm class and from 1979 in the sidecar world championship. He rode in the global top for more than 10 years.
He was and is part of the classic scene and has been organizing not only the Rupert Hollaus Memorial Race with its IGFC for over 15 years, but also a variety of events for and with the classic car scene. Be it Agostini, Taveri, Read or Spencer, the legends came to his events and helped make it one of the most notable events in Europe.
The book describes the resume of someone infected with motorsport. “Gasoline flows in his veins” – is the subtitle of this biography for a reason.

Wolfgang Stropek, österreichischer 500ccm Staatsmeister und 2-facher österreichischer Bergmeister, ist einer von drei Fahrern weltweit, die sowohl Punkte in der Solo- als auch in der Beiwagenweltmeisterschaft errungen haben. Er fuhr 1969 in Imatra in der 500ccm Klasse in die Punkteränge und danach ab 1979 in der Beiwagenweltmeisterschaft über 10 Jahre in der weltweiten Spitze mit.
Er war und ist Teil der Classic-Szene und veranstaltet mit seiner IGFC seit mehr als 15 Jahren nicht nur das Rupert Hollaus Gedächtnisrennen, sondern eine Vielzahl von Veranstaltungen für und mit der Oldtimerszene. Ob Agostini, Taveri, Read oder Spencer. Die Legenden kamen zu seinen Veranstaltungen und trugen dazu bei, dass sich diese zu einer der herausragenden Events in Europa entwickelten.
Das Buch beschreibt den Lebenslauf eines vom Motorsport infizierten. „Benzin fließt in seinen Adern“ – ist nicht umsonst der Untertitel dieser Biographie.
