In this second part, the author takes us through the stormy years just before and after the Second World War, when exports had become a necessity, which British industry met to a great extent by opening markets for its products almost all over the world.
But by the 1960s, at least six countries had emerged with a not to be underestimated motorcycle industry, driving the market closer to saturation point, making it increasingly difficult for the British to get rid of their products.
The Japanese won the race with their multi-cylinder very powerful motorcycles that also brought many people into ecstasy in terms of appearance.
