NORTON STORY
WRITTEN BY BOB HOLLIDAY

Reprint 1973

The story of Norton – one of the most famous names in motorcycling – is related here in a clear and authoritative style by Bob Holliday, former editor of Motor Cycling. Profusely illustrated with photographs and drawings, the book is compulsive reading for any motorcycling fan. It begins with the formation of the Norton Manufacturing Company in 1898, and then takes the reader through the move to Bracebridge Street, the racing successes between the wars, the Norton triumphs at Daytona in the U.S, and the introduction of the ‘Featherbed’ frame, right up to the merger with Villiers Engineering, the production of the famous Commando and the birth of the John-Player-Norton racing team.
