The book has been written on the basis of an interview with the well known motorcycle racer Axel W. Hansen, who in 1951 won the sidecar championship in Denmark. In this book Axel tells about his experiences as errand-boy, baker, sailor, but for all mechanic and motorcycle dealer.
Part of the stories are illustrated with funny drawings from Leif. Gr. Thomsen. Furthermore the book is illustrated with a big amount of photographs, mainly from Axel’s private collection.
Axel used his  nickname “Wanderer-Axel” for more than 50 years. In one of the stories he explains the origin of this name.
