VELOCETTE – A DEVELOPMENT HISTORY OF THE MSS, VENOM, VIPER, THRUXTON & SCRAMBLER MODELS
WRITTEN BY ROD BURRIS
Velocette Venom and Viper models are today regarded as classic motorcycles. Produced from the mid-fifties until early 1971, they had a unique appeal to a dedicated group of mechanically-minded enthusiasts.
Separate chapters are devoted to the technical appraisal and evolution of the engine, the transmission and cycle parts. Many suppliers’ part numbers are included, together with details of superior replacement items. There is a wide section of photographs and illustrations.
Not all information is mechanical; there is some discussion of production numbers too.
