THE ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF THE MOTORCYCLE

The earliest designs for a motorcycle were steam-powered, and doomed to failure. With the coming of the internal combustion engine in 1885, the motorcycle became a practical reality. By the early 20th century the basic pattern was established, influenced by the De Dion Bouton ‘over the counter’ engines and the Werner brothers’ quantity-production of complete motorcycles.
This book covers the inventive years up to 1920, when the industry was set to go once again, after the First World War. The many contemporary photographs and the specially commissioned colour illustrations make this book an authoritative guide to early motorcycle history.

Het boek is gebruikt, zachte kaft, 64 pagina’s, Engelse tekst.

We hebben ook de Nederlandse vertaling van dit boek, zie Eerste Motorfietsen, Nr. 1.
