Maico, once a synonym for high quality two-stroke off-road motorcycles from Germany. Founded in 1926 in Poltringen at Pfaff Ingen, this motorcycle brand rose in the fifties to become one of the most prolific producers of off-road motorcycles in Europe. In the year 1954 Maico riders have won more than 644 gold medals in the motocross and off-road competitions.

Maico – einst ein Synonym für hochwertige Zweitakt-Geländemotorräder aus Deutschland. Gegründet im Jahr 1926 in Poltringen bei Pfäffingen, stieg die schwäbische Motorradmarke in den fünfziger Jahren zu einem der profiliertesten Hersteller von Geländemotorrädern in Europa auf. Allein im Jahr 1954 errangen Maico-Motorräder mehr als 644 Goldmedaillen in den Wettbewerbsdisziplinen Motocross und Geländesport. Das deutsche Wirtschaftswunder sorgte für volle Auftragsbücher bei Maico.
